andrewstransport > Pet, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 22 December 2012.  18in gauge 0-4-0T built by Ramsbottom at the London & North Western Rly's Crewe Works in 1865 for use on its internal railway.  Withdrawn in 1929.
andrewstransport > Wren, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 8 September 2012.  18in gauge 0-4-0STT built for the internal railway at the Lancashire & Yorkshire Rly's then new Horwich Works by Beyer Peacock (2825 / 1885).  A photos of a similar Beyer Peacock loco, Dot, is in the Narrow Gauge Rly Museum at Tywyn - see my Talyllyn Rly album.
andrewstransport > Livingston Thompson, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 8 September 2012.  1ft 11.5in gauge Fairlie 0-4-4-0T buillt by the Ffestiniog Rly in 1885.  6000 King George V is behind.
andrewstransport > Lynton & Barnstaple Rly coach No 2, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 8 September 2012.  Built in 1897 by Bristol Carriage & Wagon for the opening of the 1ft 11.5in line in north Devon.  It closed in 1935, and the coach survived as a summer house.
andrewstransport > Handyman, York, Sat 8 September 2012.  Three foot gauge 0-4-0ST built by Hudswell Clarke (573 / 1900).  NB the chimney snd other components in the foreground.

andrewstransport > Post Office underground railway car No 809, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 8 September 2012.  Driverless 2ft gauge 2w-2-2-2wRE built by Dick, Kerr (809 / 1931) for the Post Office underground railway between sorting offices in central London ('Mail Rail').  Seven miles long, it was the world's first fully automated railway.  At its peak it carried four million letters a day, but most of the sorting offices it served were relocated and it closed in 2003.
andrewstransport > Ashover, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 8 September 2012.  Narrow gauge (1ft 11.5in) 4wDM built by Hibberd (3307 / 1948) for the Ashover Light Rly in Derbyshire, closed in 1950.
andrewstransport > RA 36, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 8 September 2012 1.  900mm gauge 4wBE / WE loco built for the Channel Tunnel construction project (Trans Manche Link) by Hunslet (9423 / 1990).

andrewstransport > RT 239, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 8 September 2012.  900mm gauge spoil wagon built for the Channel Tunnel construction project (Trans Manche Link).
andrewstransport > No 14, Locomotion, National Railway Museum, Shildon, Mon 8 October 2012.  Three foot gauge 0-6-0 DMF built by Hudswell Clarke (DM 1274 / 1961).  Worked at Ellington Colliery, Northumberland, until it closed in 2005.
Pet, National Railway Museum, York, Sat 22 December 2012. 18in gauge 0-4-0T built by Ramsbottom at the London & North Western Rly's Crewe Works in 1865 for use on its internal railway. Withdrawn in 1929.
