Russia: MAKS airshow 2015 - Gromov aircraft

44 photos, mainly of aircraft not connected with the MAKS airshow but parked near the Gromov Flight Research Institute. There were many other aircraft at Zhukovsky but they were inaccessible - see Google Earth.

Gromov was a member of the crew of a Tupolev ANT-25 which made a 62 hour record-breaking flight in 1937 from Moscow over the North Pole to San Jacinto, California (11,500km / 7,100 miles). He was the first director of the flight research institute at Zhukovsky which still bears his name.
