Supermarine jets
Although Supermarine had built one of the greatest fighter aircraft of all time in the Spitfire, their jets were much less successful. Here are eight photos of preserved examples of the three types.

Supermarine Attacker WA973 102-J, Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton, 26 January 2011. The FAA's first jet, in service 1951 - 1957. This is the sole survivor of 182 built. Note that it does not have swept wings or a tricycle undercarrige.
