4498 Sir Nigel Gresley, leaving Hellifield, 30 September 1967. The return leg of the A4 Presrvation Society's 'Splendour of Steam' King's Cross - Carlisle rail tour. D1503 worked it to Peterborough where 7029 Clun Castle took over. D1503 also relieved 4498 at Peterborough on the retturn. After being bought for preservation the A4 had been overhauled at Crewe(!) and restored to its LNER identity and livery. 4498 had first run on the main line on 1 April 1967, from Crewe to Carlisle via Shap, returnging via Settle.
