Mallard 75, National Railway Museum, York, 2013
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the 126mph sprint by Nigel Gresley's A4 Pacific Mallard in 1938, the NRM reunited all six surviving A4s at York, including two from North America. The event was made possible by the generous sponsorship of Hornby and a number of other companies and individuals. Here are 59 photos, most taken at the event but I have included a few older photos of Mallard, including one of it on display in the British Transport Museum at Clapham in 1967, and four of it leaving Marylebone in 1988 during its brief return to the main line for 'Mallard 50'. The collection begins with the locos in groups, and then shows individual locos in BR number order:
