Replica of Colonel Stephens's office, Tenterden Town station, Fri 8 June 2012. Lt Col Stephens built and managed the KESR. It opened in 1900 from Robertsbridge (on the Tonbridge - Hastings line) to Rolvenden. Five years later it was extended to Headcorn (on the Tonbridge - Dover line). The KESR was one of 17 light railways with which Lt Col Stephens was associated at various times. The KESR have a museum to his memory at Tenterden, which includes this reproduction of his Tonbridge office.
