Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, 1970s

Two photos of the railway's Fairburn tanks still in service in Bradford in 1966 and 1967, and 14 photos taken by Les Tindall in 1973, 1976 and 1977.

Brunswick green 44806, Haverthwaite, 9 June 1973. The green Black 5 is seen before being named Magpie on 1 August 1973. Shortly afterwards, a crack was found in the firebox, and with this type of repair being beyond the capabilities of Haverthwaite workshops in those days, the loco was moved by road to Steamport, Southport, in spring 1974.
