60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, National Railway Museum, York, 17 July 2016. The A4 is being overhauled in the NRM Works. Gresley introduced the A4s in 1935 to work the high speed London - Newcastle Silver Jubilee. The success of this train led the LNER to follow up in 1937 with the London - Edinburgh non-stop 'Coronation', which covered the 393 miles in six hours. In all 35 A4s were built, of which six survive.
