Andrews House, Sun 11 September 2016 1. Looking north from Gibraltar Bridge towards Sunniside (sic), the northern end of today's Tanfield Railway. The signal box marks the point where the Pontop & Jarrow (later Bowes) Railway crossed the Tanfield line. It is a replica of the original, and is used for issuing tokens. (The Tanfield Railway is single track except at Andrews House station.) The modern Marley Hill carriage shed is at left.
