Dinorwig quarry saloon & Black Bess velocipede, Penrhyn Castle, Mon 22 August 2011. The saloon was built in 1896 by the Gloucester Rly Carriage & Wagon Co to carry the Assheton Smith and Duff families on visits to the quarry, which they owned. It was also used to carry the quarrymen's wages to the pay office under armed guard. The velocipede is pedal operated. Both vehicles ran on the 4ft gauge Padarn Rly.
