36 photos of the National Trust's important industrial railway collection at Penrhyn Castle, near Bangor, north Wales. Many exhibits are from the north Wales slate lines, but five locos have come from further afield.
Penrhyn Rly wagons, Penrhyn Castle, Mon 22 August 2011. Both are of a nominal 2ft gauge. The one at left was used to carry fullersite, powdered waste slate, from the quarries to Port Penrhyn. The one at right carried coal from the port to the quarries. Both stand on flat-bottomed steel rail spiked directly to wooden sleepers.
