Site of goods line bridge over the River Caldew, Carlisle, Sat 25 February 2012. Looking south. The goods line used to cross the river in the middle distance and run along the near side of the white topped wall at right. The bridge carrying it was badly damaged by the runaway rear portion of a divided Freightliner in 1984. It was subsequently demolished, and Citadel re-signalled for bi-directional working to accommodate the resulting freight traffic.
