Welcome to the Budapest Children's Railway! Huvosvolgy, 4 May 2018. The 76cm gauge railway is 11.2km long and uses diesel traction. It runs through the Buda hills west of Budapest from Huvosvolgy to Szechenyi-Hegy, where the Budapest rack railway has a separate terminus. The railway was built as recently as 1948 - 1950 as a pioneer railway, operated by communist Young Pioneers under adult supervision and with adult drivers.
