Carrowbeg railtour, 2009
60 photos of the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland's annual three day steam tour. In 2009 it ran from Dublin to Westport, Westport to Ballina and return, and back to Dublin. It was hauled by Northern Counties Committee 2-6-4T No 4, built at Derby in 1947.

No 4, Athlone, 9 May 2009 - 1241 As can be seen, the train was formed of six coaches, all owned by the RPSI. Behind the engine is generating steam van 3185, built in the 1950s by Gloucester RCW as a BR Mark 1 BSK. The five coaches were all supplied to CIE in 1963-64 by Craven of Sheffield. Blue notices such as the one seen here stood at several stations whose modernisation had been partly financed by the EU.
