Builder's plate, No 4, 9 May 2009 Eighteen WT 2-6-4Ts were built by Derby between 1946 and 1950 for service in Northern Ireland on the 5 foot 3 inch lines operated by the LMS Northern Counties Committee. The LMS had inherited the NCC system from the Midland. The Midland had taken over the Belfast & Northern Counties Railway in 1903, when it was developing its Anglo-Irish services by building the new port at Heysham.
