Barry scrapyard, 1972
27 photos by LesTindall taken on two visits to the famous loco graveyard in south Wales. In all over 200 locos left Barry for preservation. Without them, the heritage railway revival would not have been possible on the scale that has been achieved.

7202 & 6990 Witherslack Hall, Barry scrapyard, 4 March 1972. The 2-8-2T arrived at Barry in 1964 and moved to the Great Western Society at Didcot in 1974. It has never steamed in preservation, but in 2010 was under restoration at Didcot. 6990 came to Barry in 1966, and left for the GCR in 1975 where it steamed in 1986, and where it was being overhauled in 2010.
