2857 & 30841, Barry scrapyard, 4 March 1972. 2857 came to Barry in 1963 and moved to the Severn Valley Rly in 1973. It steamed in 1979, and made its main line debut in 1985 with a period freight as part of the GW 150 celebrations. In 2010 it was still on the Severn Valley, being overhauled. 30841 came to Barry in 1964 and left in September 1972 for the Stour Valley Rly. It steamed in 1974 and, named Greene King, made its main line debut in 1976. It was not a success on the main line and in 1978 it moved to the North Yorkshire Moors Rly, where many parts were used to restore 30825. In 2010 only the frames remained. Photo by Les Tindall.
