25277 & 25282, 1Z69. Stafford, 11 February 1979 1. The Crewe Campaigner slowly approaches the station from Wolverhampton after a signal stop. Organised by Railway Pictorial Publications Railtours, it ran from Paddington via Oxford to Crewe to visit the works. It was hauled by four pairs of diesels. The Rats seen here worked it from Birmingham New Street to Crewe. Demand was such that a relief tour was run, using the same locos. Photo by Les Tindall.
