Seven photos concentrating on Holwell No 3, Black, Hawthorn 0-4-0ST 266 / 1873. This loco had a working life of 104 years, making it one of the longest serving in Britain. It is now preserved at the Tanfield Railway.

Holwell No 3, Wirksworth quarry, Derbyshire, 28 May 1973 1. The Black, Hawthorn 0-4-0ST (266 / 1873) stands outside the loco shed on the day of its centenary steaming. The loco entered preservation in 1977. Holwell No 3 is now (2016) at the Tanfield Railway. Inside the shed is diesel No 1, Baguley 0-4-0DM 3357 / 1952.
