North West trains, 2015
90020, 1S26, Lancaster, Fri 9 January 2015 - 0607. ScotRail's 2350 Euston - Glasgow / Edinburgh Caledonian sleeper heads north 117 minutes late. It had arrived early at Preston, but then had to wait for its (booked) relief crew off 1M11 (90024) which reached Preston 129 late after storms in Scotland. Also, a 50 mph speed limit was in force overnight between Preston and Gretna Junction because of high winds. 1S26 was held on the down slow line at Penrith while the DB Schenker 66 (0M75) off the Margam - Hardendale lime (6M75) ran ahead to prove the line. (There had been debris on the track between Carlisle and Penrith.) The train eventually reached Glasgow at 0903 105 late, having detached the Edinburgh portion at Carstairs. The 16 coaches were reported as 10617, 10561, 10553, 10690, 10523, 10714, 6704, 9801, 10598, 10504, 10600, 10597, 10531, 10648, 1210 & 9810. 1S25 reached Edinburgh at 0449, 51 late. It was cancelled between Edinburgh and Fort William and between Perth and Inverness. The Aberdeen portion arrived at 1031, 177 late. 67004 had hit a tree near Cupar but worked through to Aberdeen. 1M11 reached Euston at 0747, only 45 late. 1M16 (90019) arrived at 0859, 72 late, having run with its Fort William, Inverness and Aberdeen portions.
