My 2016 photos from the West Coast Main Line (WCML) and other lines in north west England

37259 & 37607, 6Z60, Carnforth, Wed 27 January 2016 - 1836. DRS's 0515 Seaton-on-Tees - Sellafield flasks. Because of the Tyne Valley and WCML (Lamington) closures they had been diverted via the ECML, Millerhill, Carstairs, Polmadie, Barassie, Annbank and Dumfries to Carlisle. The train was then further diverted via the WCML because the coast line was closed. It is seen leaving Carnforth after the locos had run round. The outward train (6Z46) had taken the same route on the 26th but it had reached Carlisle via Workington. DRS's 6Z46 1808 Sellafield - Kingmoor - Hunterston also ran via the WCML, with 37059 and 37612 top and tail to facilitate the reversal at Carnforth.
