47760, 1Z62, Silverdale, 26 May 2008 - 2041 The WCRC 47 heads for Carnforth nearly 3.5 hours late with the return leg of Kingfisher's Cumbrian Coast Fellsman to Ravenglass. 48151 had worked the outward leg, but had started a number of lineside fires between Silecroft and Bootle. It had also set fire to Eskmeals Viaduct, which was badly damaged. A number of Northern services had to be cancelled before single line working began over the viaduct. The 6K73 1538 Sellafield - Crewe flasks were diverted via Carlisle. The 8F was impounded at Sellafield. WCRC hired three DRS locos, 20301 & 20305 (top) and 37667 (tail) from Sellafield to get the stranded train from Ravenglass to Barrow, where 47760 took over to Carnforth.
