HMS Victory, Portsmouth, 6 March 2007 5. Victory was built mainly of oak from Kent and Sussex, but only about 20% of the ship we see today is original. This figurehead with the Hanoverian coat of arms is a replica dating from 1990. The Union Jack would still have been something of a novelty at Trafalgar, as it had been the British flag only from 1801 and the union with Ireland.
