Rodby Faerge station, Denmark, Thurs 16 July 2015 3. There are plans to replace the Puttgarden - Rodby ferries with a fixed link under the Fehmarnbelt. In preparation for that, DSB began upgrading the 115 km line from Rodby to Ringsted in 2014. At present it is not electrified, and part of it is single track. The upgrade will provide electrified 200 kmh double track throughout. It is expected that the line will become the main rail route between Scandinavia and Germany when the Fehmarnbelt fixed link opens in 2021.
